SUMMARY:Wellness Wednesday
DESCRIPTION:Wellness WednesdayLiving Parkinson’s: Seven Strategies for Taking Control and Living Your Best LifeWednesday\, September 16\, 202612:00 PM – 1:00 PM\n \n Click here to register\n \nJoin the Parkinson Association of the Carolinas (PAC) for September’s Wellness Wednesday Webinar.  \nA Parkinson’s diagnosis changes your life—but it doesn’t have to define it. In this engaging and inspiring discussion\, Steve Yellen shares the practical framework that has guided his own journey since being diagnosed in 2019. Drawing on the latest research\, his personal experiences and the lessons he’s learned from leading Parkinson’s experts and the PD community\, Steve explores seven key strategies that can help anyone living with Parkinson’s focus on what they can control and build a fuller\, more active life. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all recipe\, the Living Parkinson’s framework serves as a flexible guide\, helping each person discover the approaches that best fit their own unique symptoms\, goals and lifestyle. Whether you’re newly diagnosed or have been living with Parkinson’s for years\, you’ll leave with practical ideas you can begin putting into action right away. \nSteve has shared the Living Parkinson’s framework with hundreds of people through Parkinson’s support groups\, community organizations and conferences around the world. More than just a lecture\, this is an interactive conversation filled with real-life stories\, actionable takeaways and plenty of time for questions and discussion. You’ll discover simple ways to strengthen your mindset\, optimize exercise and wellness\, build a strong support network\, advocate for yourself and others\, and contribute to research that is changing the future of Parkinson’s. You’ll leave feeling informed\, empowered and\, most importantly\, hopeful about what’s possible—not because someone handed you a prescription for how to live with Parkinson’s\, but because you’ll have a practical framework you can adapt as your journey evolves. \nAbout the Speaker \nDiagnosed with Parkinson’s in his mid-50s\, Steve turned to data\, research and personal experimentation to understand and manage the disease. Knowing that exercise is the only potential way to slow progression\, he made fitness central to his life\, training daily and competing in triathlons and obstacle course races (e.g.\, Spartans) and even racing up the Empire State Building stairs. \n \n Click here to register
